This cover, used for all three volumes, is a photo of the back alley behind my house on the west side of LA just a couple blocks from the West LA courthouse, which was like a second home to me as I skated there from 1987 to 1996. The VA hospital, just one block away, was where a lot of the homeless came from, and over time, they moved into the area.
